There are a few things I like, and something I hate about the Bedwin Winter '09line. Yeah, It's got a lot going for it, but the details for details sake get a bit heavy on the shoulder embroidery and the sleeve screens. That being said, I do like that the collection is a mash-up of newsie-style-paper-slinger wear and circa '83 dogtown, Alva digs. A match made only in Japanese heaven. A heaven that seems fit for me. RaindogsGray? Of course. I might need to close one eye and hold a thumb or two up to block out a few details, but at a general glance, the overall aesthetic is something I can get into

At least an 'A' for effort for Bedwin giving the old college try on the "updated" looks. A red pea coat might not be the best answer, but neither is an exact replica of a WWII Navy pea coat we've all seen. It doesn't have to be exactly like the original to be classic. Oh, and the thing about the line I hate? Sorry Bedwin, but the pants tucked into theUGGs look went out with Pamela Anderson and the velour tracksuit. Computer spies have broken into the Pentagon's $300 billion Joint Strike Fighter project and made off with several terabytes of code. The Pentagon, and consequently the Wall Street Journal, suspects Chinese involvement.

The Joint Strike Fighter, also known as the F-35 Lightning II Fighter, is the most costly project in Pentagon history, so it's a little bit problematic that some spies scampered in and nicked an unknown, but undoubtedly large, quantity of data without getting anywhere near caught. The cyber-spies encrypted the data on its way out, so nobody's really sure where they came from or where the data went, but some IP addresses have been tracked to China, prompting a little bit of back-and-forth between the DoD and the Chinese government.

A Pentagon report issued last month said that the Chinese military has made "steady progress" in developing online-warfare techniques. China hopes its computer skills can help it compensate for an underdeveloped military, the report said.

The Chinese Embassy said in a statement that China "opposes and forbids all forms of cyber crimes." It called the Pentagon's report "a product of the Cold War mentality" and said the allegations of cyber espionage are "intentionally fabricated to fan up China threat sensations."

Though the most valuable information, including data on the F-35's flight control and sensors, is inaccessible (stored on non-networked computers), nobody's really sure exactly what happened, and nobody, from the manufacturers to the researchers to the Pentagon's press team, wants to talk about it. It's a pretty alarming read, check it out.

A bus driver and his friend were pulled over and taken to jail after the police in Arkansas found 500 pounds of mariquana stashed in there tour bus. The bus driver said that the drugs belonged to Fabolous and another rapper that they could not remember his name. He also said that he drove them to All Star Weekend and was instructed to deliver the drugs to Fabolous in Boston. Now it sounds like a lie, but as you can tell from the picture Fabolous has love for the city of Boston…lol…I know that Bobby Brown is mad he didn’t get to that bus.

Say what? A Kansas City woman with a tight weave gets shot at by her boyfriend through a car window. Later, the cops find a spent bullet in her hair. Did the hair stop it?

Apparently some weaves are tighter than others. (Apparently, some relationships are tighter than others too.) After 20-year-old Briana Bonds told her boyfriend Juan she didn't love him anymore, the a-hole shot up the back of her mid-'90s Pontiac. The rear windshield was shattered, but she was still alive and without major injury, possibly thanks to that weave.

The ladies down at the beauty parlor are not totally convinced, though. Scientifically speaking, the weft (where the weave meets the hair) is where the fibers are interlocked most tightly. But whether or not that makes it any where close to the equivalent of a Kevlar mesh is beyond current beauty-parlor technology to ascertain.

Hair stylist Kim Walton told Kansas City NBC affiliate KSHB, "I never heard of weaves saving anybody's life." Still, if it turned out to be what saved Bonds, she added, "Thank God for weave."

Bonds herself told the news channel that it was more about God than the weave: "I think God was in my passenger seat." As of Thursday, Bonds had a headache; no word on what happened to that dick Juan.
